6 potential cap casualties the Steelers must sign in 2022

Steelers should target Linder
Another talented but oft-injured lineman, Brandon Linder is a top interior lineman when on the field. When healthy, he has been a road-grading center for the Jaguars. He will only be 30 next season as well and given his position versatility (he is naturally a center but could play guard) the Steelers would have to try and sign him if he were to be released.
The problem with Linder, similar to Bulaga, is that he hasn’t been healthy these past two seasons. He has only appeared in 18 total games, and with younger options playing well enough in Jacksonville, Linder could be on his way out. While injuries have been an issue these past two seasons, he had stayed mostly healthy before that. Like Bulaga though, signing him means you have to think about those injuries though.
If he can stay healthy though, he would be a huge upgrade along the interior for the team. It is no secret that Kendrick Green bombed last season and Trai Turner is no lock to return to the team either. Linder would instantly give the Steelers a great center to work with during the 2022 season. For a team that saw the interior of their line get decimated last season, adding a player like Linder if released would be a no-brainer.
