Steelers mock draft round 3: OT Rasheed Walker

Many fans are hoping the Steelers address the offensive line as early as the 20th overall pick. I can understand that; it’s a strong group that is sure to include a few quality candidates when Pittsburgh is on the clock. However, if the NFL Draft plays out like this, Kevin Colbert might not be able to focus on the position until round three.

By this stage in the draft, the Steelers probably aren’t getting a plug-and-play starter. However, there are still a few developmental prospects with quality starter upside (much like Dan Moore Jr. last year). Penn State’s Rasheed Walker is one of them.

Listed at 6’6” and 312 pounds, Walker has prototype size for the offensive tackle position and his tool makes him a great scheme fit with Matt Canada’s offense in Pittsburgh.

With Chukwuma Okorafor likely on the way out and no other decent option outside of Moore, Walker could develop into the starting right tackle for the Steelers, but he could probably benefit by starting his career watching from the sidelines.
