Steelers may draft Willis

The name everyone has been talking about since the Senior Bowl, there is a real chance the Steelers blow past other needs and try to land their franchise quarterback at pick 20. They were all over Malik Willis at the Senior Bowl and most are expecting that interest to carry through the remainder of the offseason. These two are being linked similarly to how Najee Harris was linked to this team.

Willis has plenty of flaws which I have covered before, but it is safe to say that he has one of the higher, if not the highest ceiling, of any of the quarterbacks in the draft. He can make every throw and is a weapon on the ground. His decision-making and processing are horrible, but those traits can be developed over time. There is a good reason the Steelers are so interested in Willis.

While many are doubting, he will be there at pick 20, I think there is a fair chance he is. While teams will always reach for a quarterback, names like Kenny Pickett, Sam Howell, and Matt Corral could all hear their names called before Willis due to them being safer picks. With the draft rich in other positions, that could allow the third or fourth quarterback to fall to the Steelers. While there are no guarantees, I have a strong feeling that if Willis is available at pick 20, he is going to be the Steelers guy.

With the combine set to shake up draft boards, these four players seem like the best options for the Steelers as of now. While more names will rise and fall over the next few months, the team will hopefully be locking up their board sooner than later. As of now, these prospects make the most sense for the Steelers.
