Steelers will love Jahan Dotson

This one is really easy to make connections to Pittsburgh. Jahan Dotson has been electrifying at Penn State and was recently compared to Steelers top receiver Diontae Johnson by NFL Draft expert, Daniel Jeremiah. Like Johnson, Dotson can separate and is incredibly shifty at the catch, but with more reliable hands.

Sadly, Dotson almost seems destined to be a guy who falls somewhere between their first and second-round pick. Some team is going to get a really good player with him. There’s always the chance that Pittsburgh tries to move up in the second round (assuming Dotson makes it that far), but in a year where they are short on draft capital, it’s hard to see them making such a move.

I feel like Johnson fits exactly what the Steelers look for in a wide receiver as he has a similar body type and twitchiness to former Steelers like Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders. The Steelers had a personal meeting with Dotson at the NFL Combine. I’m sure they will love him, but this one doesn’t seem very realistic unless they are willing to spend their first-round pick on a wide receiver (and I’m sure they won’t be).

The Steelers have met with all three of these receivers at the Combine and it’s not hard to make the connections here to Pittsburgh. However, landing one of these play-makers would require a high draft choice. It will be interesting to see if the Steelers look for a receiver on day two of the NFL Draft.
