Steelers could add Pittsburgh native Skyy Moore

Skyy Moore is a name many Steelers fans have likely heard linked to the team this draft season, and there is good reason for that. He attended Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh with Mike Tomlins’ son Dino, and he even brought up being a diehard Steelers fan during combine interviews. He also was one of the players Pittsburgh chose to interview, signaling a mutual interest.

Pittsburgh ties aside, Moore developed into one of the most dynamic receivers in the country this past season, racking up 95 receptions for 1,292 yards and 10 scores. He was already considered a day 2 pick before arriving in Indy, but after his performance Thursday he likely won’t make it out of round 2. Although measuring a hair under 5’10 and weighing 195 pounds, his 4.41 40 time was still very impressive for a player being labeled a slot receiver. His route running in drills was about as precise and smooth as it gets, and he looked very comfortable catching the football.

I have already seen Moore mocked to the Steelers plenty of times, but it was usually with their pick in the 3rd round. Now that he has likely pushed himself into round 2 consideration, Pittsburgh would need to use pick 52 if they wanted to bring him home. Despite bigger needs elsewhere on the roster, the value would be good and he would bring a different skill set in the slot than what they have now. I would honestly be surprised if he isn’t a Steeler come draft day.
