The Pittsburgh Steelers are suckers for good athletes. Here are four NFL Combine studs they must consider selecting in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Athleticism should hardly be used as the sole means of evaluating NFL talent. However, it never hurts when players who put together strong tape also prove to be great testing athletes prior to entering the NFL Draft.

We know that the Steelers are suckers for a good athlete. This is something they’ve been stressing in recent years, and it has produces some pretty favorable results. The 2022 draft class tested out particularly well at the NFL Combine this year, and these four Combine studs are players Pittsburgh must consider in the 2022 NFL Draft:

Steelers must consider WR Christian Watson

Christian Watson was one of the biggest overall winners at the NFL Combine this year, in my opinion. Coming from a small-school program like North Dakota State, Watson needed more than just good film to elevate his draft stock.

Watson tested off the charts in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine — earning a 4.36 40-yard dash, 38 1/2” vertical, and 11’4” broad jump. His speed and explosion are remarkably rare, but they are even harder to find in a player who is 6’4” and 208 pounds with 32 1/2” arms and 10 1/8” hands.

With an electrifying Combine, Watson elevated himself to an early day two pick this year. If he’s still on the board when the 52nd overall pick rolls around, Pittsburgh should run to the podium with his card.

The Steelers could be losing both JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington this year, and they have been missing elite deep speed since shipping away Martavis Bryant. Watson shares some similarities to Bryant and could give this offense a big boost from day one.
