The Pittsburgh Steelers missed out on the Russell Wilson sweepstakes, but here are four veteran quarterbacks they could still trade for during the 2022 offseason.

It’s hard to recall the last time there was this much movement at the quarterback position in just a two-day span. Almost immediately after the new broke that Aaron Rodgers was going to be returning to Green Bay for the 2022 season, Adam Schefter reported that the Denver Broncos have made a blockbuster trade for a quarterback, Russell Wilson.

One day later, the Colts surprisingly found a trade partner for Carson Wentz, as the former second overall pick by the Eagles now finds himself on his third team with the Washington Commanders.

The big moves could indicate that NFL teams aren’t very high on this upcoming rookie quarterback class. Sadly, the Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be stuck in limbo with their decision at the QB position. While it seems likely that they will address this through the draft, here are four quarterbacks who could still be dealt this offseason:

Steelers could trade for  Garappolo

For the record, I haven’t been a fan of the idea of trading for a quarterback unless they were getting a premier player like Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers. Anything less seems like a futile effort to me. However, I wouldn’t put it past the Steelers to make a move at Jimmy Garoppolo.

Despite his ‘game management’ style of play, Garoppolo does have a very good win percentage, and his team came up just short of making the Super Bowl last season. Garappolo isn’t exactly a QB who can carry the team on his shoulders, but he’s efficient and could help the Steelers win football games.

With no guaranteed money left on his contract, trading for Garoppolo isn’t something that is going to set this team back from a financial standpoint, and the asking price shouldn’t be too steep. I personally don’t think Garoppolo is going to be good enough to do anything more than scratch the surface of the playoffs, but Mike Tomlin could like the stability he offers at the QB position.
