Steelers could trade for Watson

This one seems highly unlikely to me, but it’s worth throwing out there. Deshaun Watson has 22 civil cases pending against him for alleged sexual assault, and I really doubt this is something that Art Rooney II wants to get mixed up in.

However, there’s no denying Watson’s talent. The 26-year-old quarterback didn’t play a single game this past season because of the allegations, but already has three Pro Bowl appearances under his belt and has a phenomenal career passer rating of 104.5, according to Pro Football Reference.

In his most recent season in 2020, Watson compiled 4,823 passing yards to go with 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. What was most impressive was the 8.9 yards per attempt he averaged during this season.

Watson is certainly the big-play type of quarterback who can lead his team from behind and he’s the guy you want running the offense late in the game. While the Texans will attempt to trade him, I just can’t see the Steelers wanting any part of him, considering the charges.
