Steelers mock draft:

53. . Safety. Cleveland Browns. Kyle Hamilton. 13. player

Even with their disappointing 2021 season, the Cleveland Browns don’t have a lot of glaring needs. This will allow them to take the best available player on their board with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. That guy is Notre Dame safety, Kyle Hamilton. Safeties just don’t typically get drafted that high, and it didn’t help his cause that he ran just a 4.59 at the NFL Combine. Still, Hamilton is one of the best overall prospects in this class and has a chance to be a Derwin James-type player at the next level.

Jordan Davis. 14. player. 26. . Defensive tackle. Baltimore Ravens

If the Browns’ selection of Kyle Hamilton didn’t upset Steelers fans, this pick certainly will. Jordan Davis is a fan-favorite for many around the league, and for good reason. You just don’t see guys at his size (6’6, 341 pounds) who can move the way he does. His remarkable 4.78 40-yard dash was the best number ever recorded for a defensive tackle weighing at least 330 pounds. Baltimore is the perfect landing spot for him, and he will help negotiate divisional running backs Najee Harris, Nick Chubb, and Joe Mixon. Ravens fans should be ecstatic about this.

. Cornerback. Philadelphia Eagles. Trent McDuffie. 15. player. 54

The Eagles have three mid-first-round picks this year, and they could go a number of different directions with them. One area I’m sure they would like to improve is in the secondary. Some NFL Draft analysts love Trent McDuffie. The Washington cornerback is physical against the run and sticky in coverage. His biggest question mark comes with his lack of size and length, as his arms came in under 30”. Still, McDuffie is just a great football player who will find a huge role on Philadelphia’s defense from day one.

Philadelphia Eagles. Garrett Wilson. 16. player. 54. . Wide receiver

With the second of their three first-round picks, I have the Eagles grabbing a well-rounded receiver who could play opposite of DeVonta Smith. The Jalen Reagor experiment really didn’t work out, and QB Jalen Hurts needs someone besides Smith who can routinely get open. Wilson would offer the Eagles more big-play ability and help give their lackluster offense a sizeable boost if all goes well.
