Steelers should be interested in Watson

A name that has seen his stock rise rapidly ever since the Senior Bowl, Christian Watson is clearly on the Steelers’ radar and is likely on most teams’ draft board. Frankly put, it is rare to see a receiver with his blend of size and speed. He’s 6’4, 208 pounds with the biggest hands in the class and he ran a 4.28 forty-yard dash. Those are Randy Moss-like numbers.

Watson was a fine receiver in school and most saw him as a potential day three pick heading into the Senior Bowl. A good showing that week and in the game gave him some late-round three looks and now the Steelers would likely need to spend their second-round pick to acquire him. It would be seemingly well worth it though, as Watson is the field stretcher this offense needs with the potential to be a dynamic outside receiver in time.

The Steelers have a huge need at receiver as well, making the potential of using a second pick on Watson even more likely. The team has shown quite a bit of interest in Watson to this point, and it seems unlikely that he has disappointed. Every fan should have him circled at pick 52, as he seems like a natural fit for what this team wants after dominating the combine and Senior Bowl.
