There has been a whirlwind of activity in the NFL in free agency so far. Oddly enough the Steelers,  have made a huge splash with their free-agent signings.

In signing free-agent players, they have made strides at plugging their holes in several key positions. Thus they have created a situation in which fans will have to guess who they ultimately decide on in the NFL Draft, as it appears they are going to opt for the best player available.

So far, the Steelers have Signed Mitchell Trubisky as their quarterback. While not a long-term solution, unless he does something miraculous, at least solves the short-term problem at quarterback as the Steelers make a plan for a succession Roethlisberger.

On March 16th, stunningly, the Steelers signed former Jaguar Myles Jack signed a two-year deal for $16 million. Then they promptly released Joe Shobert in a move designed to save $9 million against the salary cap.

The Steelers helped bolster the offensive line with three signings. The biggest of the three signings was former Chicago Bear guard/center James Daniels. He is a whopping 6’4” 327 pounds. Others have said he has a nasty little streak as well. The Steelers then re-signed guard  Chukwuma Okorafor and signed former Viking Center Mason Cole. His addition could indicate Kendrick Green will move to the right guard.

Then they bolstered the secondary by signing Cornerback Levi Wallace and strong safety Miles Killebrew while re-signing cornerbacks Arthur Mulet and Ahkello Witherspoon.

However, free agency is not over, and there are still moves that could occur as there are three UFA’s from the Steelers that have not re-signed or moved to a new team. So here are three bold predictions for the remainder of Steelers free agency.
