Steelers OT Dan Moore Jr.

I’m certainly not ready to give up on Dan Moore Jr. last year’s rookie offensive tackle showed a lot of promise in his first season. However, this is a big year for Moore and could dictate whether or not he keeps his starting job or reverts back to being a swing tackle for Pittsburgh.

While I think Pittsburgh should always be looking for ways to improve their offensive line (specifically the offensive tackle position), I certainly think that Moore is a player who is poised to look much better in his second NFL season.

Most people didn’t assume that Moore was going to have a full year of starting experience on his resume at this point in time, and his 1,080 snaps as a rookie are only going to benefit him heading into his second season.

Moore has prototype size and athletic traits for the offensive tackle position, and if he turns out to be a great player for this team, that would be a bigger win than hitting on Najee Harris or Pat Freiermuth. I don’t expect Moore to be one of the better left tackles in the league in his second season, but I still think he could take a big step up this year.
