Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

Kyle Hamilton is the best safety in this draft class. Not only is he the best safety, but he might be the best prospect in 2022. He probably won’t be taken number one overall but that is because teams select need over value sometimes.

The Steelers will not get remotely close to selecting this player in the first round. He is a great talent that will go in the top five, potentially the top three. He has been the talk of this draft for years now and he will be hearing his name called early.

Pittsburgh would love to add a player like Hamilton, but the only hope they have in getting him will be in years when he has a chance of becoming a free agent. He is the perfect size and athlete that would check every box for the Steelers to select him in round one. He is just far too talented to be there unless the team surprised everyone and traded up for him.

He would make for a formidable duo with Minkah Fitzpatrick on this defense. The only position that the black and gold will trade up for will be a quarterback, but that seems more unlikely with each day that passes.

Right now, Hamilton seems to be on his way to being a top-five pick and that seems fairly locked in at this point. He could always be selected higher as he will be an immediate impact player for whichever franchise selects him.
