Steelers could trade for Isabella

Another name that the Steelers supposedly had an interest in before he was drafted, Andy Isabella has been a major draft bust for the Cardinals after getting drafted in the second round. Similar to Hamler. Isabella made a name for himself at the combine as he ran extremely well and essentially vaulted himself into a higher draft status.

He was disappointing through his first two seasons and all but forgotten about last year. The selection and usage of Rondale Moore sealed Isabella’s fate, as the Cardinals essentially used the Purdue product as Isabella had been used. The Cardinals allowed Isabella to seek a trade a few weeks ago, and considering he is still on their roster there doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest.

Where Isabella would fit in is as a slot receiver, and preferably one that is used akin to how Ray-Ray McCloud was used last season. In a sense, he would be that gadget slot option that can use his athleticism to make plays in the open field. Compensation would be next to nothing, probably a conditional seventh-round pick, and the Steelers would in turn land a capable slot reserve for their offense.
