Steelers could trade for Igbinoghene

There were a lot of surprises for Noah Igbinoghene early on in his professional career. Despite being one of the more intriguing corners of his respective draft class, most were surprised to see him go in the first round. As well, it was equally surprising to see the Dolphins sign him, especially after handing Byron Jones a huge contract in free agency.

To say his run in Miami has been bad would be an understatement. In his first two seasons, Igbinoghene has managed to just play 365 total defensive snaps. He hasn’t been impressive when on the field either, as PFF has ranked him as a below-average corner, and he has never given up a QBR less than 129. There is a real chance the Dolphins try to move on from their disappointing cornerback.

Like Isabella, Igbinoghene would essentially be a dart throw if the Steelers acquired him. I would probably keep him on the outside although you could try to develop him in the slot (he has the size for it). Considering it would likely take a late, conditional pick to bring him in, it couldn’t hurt to kick his tires. It would be yet another body on the cheap to add to this cornerback depth chart.
