Steelers should re-sign Terrell Edmunds

Despite the additions in free agency, the Steelers still need to lock up another safety, in addition to giving Minkah Fitzpatrick a contract extension. Probably the most reasonable and safe move for Pittsburgh is to re-sign Terrell Edmunds.

The desire for the Steelers to bring in Tyrann Mathieu to replace Edmunds is an exciting notion for fans. They would love to see Mathieu in black and gold. But the likelihood of that happening at this point seems very low.

It’s very likely that the price tag to bring Mathieu in would be well outside of the range Pittsburgh is willing to spend on that position. But, Edmunds has proved to be successful in this position, so bringing him back in for an extension is a move the Steelers could make in confidence.

The fact that he is still a free agent at this point shows that his market may not be what he was expecting. I believe that Edmunds will be back on the Steelers defense and I think this move is best for both sides.
