Steelers mock draft: Pittsburgh still desires QB after Pro Day visits

Steelers mock draft round 7(via Jets): S Amari Carter
Amari Carter just seems like the type of safety the Steelers will target in the NFL Draft. While he doesn’t offer much in terms of ball skills (2 interceptions in five seasons), he’s incredibly physical and could play a big role right away on special teams.
Carter has tons of game experience in college and at nearly 6’0” and 200 pounds, he possesses good size for the position. I wouldn’t expect Carter to ever be anything more than a core special teams player, Steelers will take that at this point in the draft.
Steelers mock draft round 7: LB Chance Campbell
Chance Campbell would be a very intriguing prospect for the Steelers if he is still on the board for their final pick. Pittsburgh selected a day-three SEC linebacker just last year in Buddy Johnson, and they could do the same in 2022 if they don’t take a LB early.
Campbell tested as a great athlete, but it doesn’t always show up on film. He only has one good year of production, but his frame (6’2”, 232 pounds) and speed (4.57) could help him stick on the Steelers roster.
The Steelers would like to add depth to other positions as well, but after getting a gauge for some of their interests during the pre-draft process, I have them investing in the offense early in the 2022 NFL Draft.
