Steelers dream mock draft round 3: LB Chad Muma

I know all three of my top selections in my dream mock draft for the Steelers come on the defensive side of the football, but this is exactly where I would expect the value to lineup in the 2022 NFL Draft. Chad Muma is a terrific linebacker, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s better than Devin Lloyd or Nakobe Dean at the next level.

Muma has outstanding film at Wyoming as he’s a do-it-all linebacker who will excel on every down at the next level. Muma is stout against the run and can mirror running backs and tight ends in the passing game.

The Wyoming product also has ideal size and athletic traits to develop into one of the better linebackers at the next level. At nearly 6’3” and 239 pounds, Muma remarkably tested as a 97th percentile athlete, according to Relative Athletic Score — posting phenomenal explosion numbers with good speed and agility.

For the Steelers, Muma could find a role right away as a situational linebacker and take over for Devin Bush full-time following the 2022 season. Muma could be for the Steelers what Bush was meant to be.
