Steelers Jack

Another new face that should benefit from his new team, Myles Jack is in a far better position now than he was in his previous few seasons. Right after he was drafted, he was inserted into a talented Jaguars defense that featured a ferocious front seven and he prospered. As that defense was broken apart over the years, Jack saw his effectiveness wane.

Now he is back in a talented defense, and he could finally rebound back to his productive ways. Jack is a complete linebacker that benefits from open gaps to shoot through to make plays. As well, he is an efficient coverage linebacker that can run with running backs and tight ends regularly. Those skills are still there, even if they haven’t been as obvious over the past few seasons.

Where Jack will really benefit is having less on his plate than seasons before. As the Jaguars’ defense regressed over the years, Jack was suddenly thrust into the spotlight. The more he has to account for, the worse he seems to play. Being able to read and react is his strength, and the Steelers will be able to exploit that well. Expect him to have a bounce-back season in playing along this defense.
