The 25 most likely Steelers defensive targets in 2022 draft
By Andrew Falce
Steelers defensive prospect #19
Rounding out the late-round defenders that the Steelers have brought in for pre-draft visits, Mark Robinson is essentially a slightly more athletic version of Skalski from just a few spots before. That said, he would still classify as an undersized and unathletic defender at the pro level. If he were to be taken, it would be a seventh-round pick this year.
Robinson was a productive member of the Ole Miss defense, but his limitations will hold him back at the next level. He would be a special team-only type of player in a pro-defense, and that kind of limitation makes it hard to justify drafting him. That said, if the team saw enough of him in the pre-draft process, they could use one of their last picks to add him.
The only reason these past few names made this list is because of the players around them attracting the Steelers to their pro day with some of their top coaches and scouts. Add in the pre-draft visits and suddenly each of these names scored a three on my criteria. Don’t be surprised to see one of these names land with the team either late in the draft or as an undrafted free agent.
