It’s no secret that the offensive line was one of the Steelers’ biggest weaknesses last year, and offensive tackle was a huge part of that. While Dan Moore Jr. showed some promise last year, and Chukwuma Okorafor received an extension this offseason, the team should absolutely look to select an offensive tackle to develop this year. It is entirely possible that either Okorafor is deemed not worthy of his contract after this year, and is released, or that Moore is not a long-term answer.

If the team deems either of those to be true after this year, then having a developmental offensive tackle already in place would be beneficial, and selecting Matt Waletzko out of North Dakota in the fourth round could be the perfect time to do that.

According to mockdraftable.com, Waletzko is listed at 6’7 5/8″, and 312 lbs., and with that frame could be a perfect developmental option for the Steelers. While he is a raw talent, with proper coaching he could develop into a solid starter, and Pittsburgh would be a good place for that, as he wouldn’t be expected to start this year anyway.

838. . Running Back. Tar Heels . Ty Chandler. 6. player

The Steelers have a need at running back behind Najee Harris, and while free agency could be the route they choose, it’s possible the team drafts one late to compliment Harris. Ty Chandler would be a strong selection for the Steelers as he is a speedy back who can handle the load if Harris were to go down with an injury, but projects best as a complementary back.

According to mockdraftable.com, he is listed at 5’11”, 204 lbs., and ran a 4.38 40-yard dash. That speed would be beneficial to the Steelers, as Harris is a bruising back, and adding a speedy compliment to him would be the best route to go if they are to draft one. He demonstrated explosiveness as the starter at North Carolina this year and would be a nice number two back in Pittsburgh, behind Harris.
