Pickett was the most pro-ready QB in the NFL Draft

There seemed to be a consensus amongst the media talking heads indicating that none of the quarterbacks in this draft would become an immediate starter after being drafted. Kenny Pickett really stood out as the most NFL-ready quarterback. Starting him was only an option if he was the team’s best quarterback on the roster.

With the current state of the Steelers QB depth chart, Pickett has a chance to work his way into the starting position. Even with the off-season addition of Mitch Trubisky, it seems that Pickett has a chance to beat out him and Mason Rudolph. Pickett’s performance as a Pitt Panther really shows that he has the arm and the mobility to play in the NFL.

With most rookie quarterbacks there are growing pains in their first professional football experience. But as a 24-year-old, Kenny Pickett should bring an elevated maturity and mentality to be able to deal with those pains.
