Steelers aren’t confident in Trubisky or Rudolph

The signing of Mitch Trubisky was a turning point in the offseason for Steelers fans. A moment of realizing that Pittsburgh was going to start the season with what appeared to be a bridge quarterback. It was a shock at first, but as the days passed on fans started to reason with the idea and they began to talk themselves into liking their new QB.

All this was going on while everyone figured that the Steelers would have to trade up in the draft to get a quarterback, which seemed unlikely for this class. But when everything played out Pittsburgh pounced on the chance to get their guy.

While this pick certainly doesn’t solidify Pickett as the next starter or even the next franchise QB, it certainly shows that Trubisky and Rudolph better make a case for themselves in training camp. Otherwise, it will be evident that they are only there to bridge the gap until Kenny Pickett is seasoned and ready.

There are mixed opinions about the Kenny Pickett selection, but we are just going to have to wait and see how this plays out. At the very least, we know the Steelers did their homework on the quarterbacks this offseason and we can’t knock them for trying.
