In perhaps the wildest NFL Draft first-round ever, the Steelers shocked some and elated others by taking Kenny Pickett at the 20th selection.

Some players went surprisingly early outside of the Steelers selection, such as Derek Stingley, whom many had pegged going to the Vikings with the 12th pick. George Karlaftis fell to the Chief’s selection at 30, and Bill Belichek came out of the left-field, selecting Cole Strange.

Day two leaves us with quite a few potential first-round draft picks that have now fallen to day two. Now the Steelers currently sit at number 52 selection in the second round. Before they consider staying at 52, perhaps they should trade up.

Honestly, there are 14 players overall, many of whom will be gone by the time they are on the clock again. The positions with the most talent remaining on the board are corner, edge rusher. Then there is still a quality linebacker, two offensive linemen, and one or two receivers that could also merit a trade-up.

It’s hard to say which team the Steelers could or would trade with; however, the optimum position they should target are these picks 36 (Giants), 37 (Texans), 38 (Jets from Carolina), 39 (Bears), 40 (seahawks from Denver) or 41 (seahawks). It’s hard to say which would be the best, but obviously, picks 38 and 39 would allow the Steelers more options than selection 40.

Now that they have Kenny Pickett, a pick which, depending on which side of the fence you’re on or either falls flat or is stellar, the Steelers can still make a huge splash if they trade up. So here are the top players the Steelers should trade up to acquire in round two.
