Make no doubt about it the Steelers need a wide receiver. The rest of the NFL raided their shelves clean before the draft took JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, and Ray-Ray McCloud. The big issue here is that everyone was so focused on when the quarterback rush would start that no one expected the wide receiver rush.

There was a decent chance Jahan Dotson could have fallen to day two. By the time the Commanders picked Dotson at pick 16, all the projected day one receivers had come off the draft board leaving only three decent round two prospects. Watson would seemingly be the best here. Although as an alternative, there is Pickens or Skyy Moore as a backup receiver plan.

First, Watson is a big tall receiver very similar to Chase Claypool. Watson is 6’5” and 208 pounds. He has great strength benching 18 reps. He has a 38.5-inch vertical, and are you ready for this? He ran a 4.36 40-yard dash.

He would easily find a quick home as the number three receiver behind Claypool and Johnson and could prove to be an additional explosive weapon for whoever heads the offense next year.
