Nakobe Dean: LB, Georgia

Is there any player In the first round of this year’s NFL draft that did not come from Georgia? Well, it seemed like it as five defensive players all went in the first round. The only one not going was Nakobe Dean. Despite that, he will not last much longer on the draft board either someone will take him quickly.

A trade for Nakobe Dean would be, like Andrew Booth, would be Tomlin’s easiest decision ever. If Booth was the lone cornerback on Tomlin’s shortlist, Dean is the lone linebacker remaining from Tomlin’s shortlist. He is also the third highest-rated player still available in the draft. You can hear it like the  Capital One commercial it’s the easiest decision since “I pick Barkley.”

He is 6’0’ and 225 pounds, which is one of his biggest detractors, nonetheless,  and would find a welcome home in the Steelers linebacking corps. He reads the game exceptionally well, and he has a remarkable ability to diagnose a run game. That would be exceedingly helpful as the Steelers had a horrible time stopping the run last season as opposing teams shredded them.

Considering no one knows what will happen with Devin Bush after 2022, the steelers can trade up and get Bush’s replacement in the second round.
