Steelers must address secondary

I was thrilled when the Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed safety Terrell Edmunds just days prior to the NFL Draft. Had this not been the case, Colbert may have been forced to use one of his top draft choices to address this massive position of need.

Additionally, Pittsburgh recently signed former Falcons and Cowboys safety, Damontae Kazee as added insurance in the backend in the event of an injury. Unfortunately, there is still more work to be done.

The Steelers didn’t spend a single one of their seven selections on the secondary in the 2022 NFL Draft. While I applaud them for going where the value was, this is an area they will have to improve soon.

Levi Wallace was a solid addition this offseason, but Pittsburgh is still lacking quality depth in the backend — particularly at the cornerback position. This is a positional group that really struggled in 2021. Bringing in one more quality veteran could really help — especially after losing Joe Haden this offseason.
