It’s sad to say that the Ravens absolutely crushed this draft class.

I don’t know why the league did this to Steelers fans but Kyle Hamilton somehow fell to Baltimore at the 14th pick. Hamilton might be the best defensive player in this entire draft class and if not for the early run on wide receivers, he probably would’ve been picked in the top 10. Safety wasn’t a top need for the Ravens but they are going from serviceable at that position to elite with this pick.

Tyler Lindenbaum’s measurements at the combine likely dropped him out of the top 20 but he could be the best interior lineman from this class. Center was a need for Baltimore and they filled it with the best player at that position.

I think the real magic in this draft class was the drafting of David Ojabo in the second round. Ojabo was a projected top 15 pick before tearing his Achilles during his pro day. Ojabo likely won’t play this season. However, we saw Cam Akers tear his Achilles last year in the preseason and he made it back during the playoffs. I’m not saying Ojabo will be back that quick. However, if Ojabo comes back even next year and is as good as he was before he got hurt, he will be the steal of the draft.

The Ravens added quality depth and I think Isaiah Likely in the fourth round could turn out to be a steal. However, the only thing keeping me from naming this as the best draft class in the NFL is the lack of a Wide Receiver. Rashod Bateman is good but you could make the argument that he is only the second-best pass catcher on this team. The first and third-best pass catchers are likely their two starting tight ends.

I understand that tight ends are heavily utilized in Baltimore’s offense, however, I still think that the missing piece in their offense is a homerun hitter on the outside and they probably could’ve found one in the fastest wide receiver class in the history of the NFL.

The Ravens get an “A” from me due to the amount of talent in their first 3 picks. The lack of a flier on a wide receiver in a class of speedsters is what is keeping me from giving them an “A+.”
