The Steelers feel confident about their offensive line

Perhaps about a third of mock drafts, even despite the obvious foreshadowing, the Steelers had decided to select a quarterback still thought Pittsburgh might take Tyler Linderbaum, Trevor Penning, or Bernhard Raimann. They did not draft one lineman.

Now that said, they did add depth to the position by signing three undrafted free agents for the offensive line. Jake Dixon offensive tackle from Duquesne, Chris Owens guard, Alabama, and Jordan Tucker offensive tackle, North Carolina. It shows that they still considered the position an area of concern that needed additional depth.

However, the Steelers feel they significantly improved the offensive line at the start of free agency when they added James Daniels at guard and re-signed Chukwuma Okorafor. With returning starting rookies Dan Moore and Kendrick Green and including Kevin Dotson, they feel the offensive will line will only improve.

Plus, when they signed Mason Cole, center, that gives them some flexibility to move Kendrick Green perhaps to tackle, as many were not overly impressed with his performance at center last season.

Now, as usual, we can expect an injury or two over the duration of the season; hence they added depth to deal with those issues as they occur. The question is, should they have added someone to the offensive line before the draft concluded? Only time will answer that question.
