Steelers should sign Lindsay

Once again going to the running back room, a name that really does make a lot of sense is Phillip Lindsay. At one point in time, the former undrafted free agent was a rising star in the league. He was putting up huge numbers on the ground and respectable stats through the air. Injuries caught up with him though, and he left the Broncos last season to relatively disastrous results.

Lindsay split time between the Dolphins and Texans and wasn’t overly productive. He easily had his worst season as a pro and thus hasn’t had a very interested market for his services. Just two years ago he was perceived to be one of the top running backs in the league though. Add in his speed and ability to run outside and he would be a good compliment in this offense.

Assuming Harris stays healthy, Lindsay can take on the role of a change of pace back for the team. If Harris were to miss any time, Lindsay has proven to be an effective runner to this point in his career. He could handle a full workload if given it. He would be a good addition to this backfield, and he would immensely strengthen this running back depth chart.

The Steelers still have some holes even though the draft has finished up. Because of this, they should add a few free agents to their roster to fill out their depth chart. These four names in particular make the most sense, as they would fill instant holes and serve a purpose on the depth chart. Keep their names in mind as the NFL offseason continues.
