While the Steelers roster is mostly set right now, these four available free agents could wind up being starters for this team if they were signed.

The Steelers had a more aggressive than usual offseason, as they had the cap space and holes that necessitated some big moves. While the roster is almost set at this point, the team could still get better results by adding some more talent to this unit. Here are four current free agents that could start for this team if they were signed before training camp.

Steelers could sign Bulaga

At one point in time, Bryan Bulaga was one of the premier right tackles in the league and a dominant member of a talented Packers offensive line. Injuries began mounting though, and he ended up moving on to play with the Chargers. While he was fine when he was on the field, Bulaga’s injuries derailed his time with the Chargers and have now left him as a free agent without a team.

While the Steelers did make a significant investment by re-signing Chukwuma Okorafor to a new deal, the team could still do better here. While rolling into the season with him and Dan Moore could work, having a third capable tackle would be more ideal. That way, if either he or Moore falters, a different option could step in.

If healthy, Bulaga would be a significant asset to have along the right side of the line. At worst, he could become a capable backup and a guy to push the actual starters. Assuming he signed for the minimum or close to it, the team would be risking next to nothing to bring him in. The rewards could be massive though if it pans out for him.
