With the Steelers gearing up for training camp, here are four players that should be nominated for their Hall of Honor this season.

The Steelers Hall of Honor opened in 2017 and features a litany of amazing names from the franchise’s history. With summer just beginning, the team should be announcing their next group of inductees. While there are a bunch of names that make sense, these four, in particular, should be atop the list of potential names to join the Hall of Honor.

Steelers Holmes

A bit of a throwback here to the 70’s glory days as Ernie Holmes was yet another dominant player along the daunting Steel Curtain. While his name pales in comparison to the legendary likes of Joe Greene, Holmes was still an instrumental part of this team’s defensive success during the original dynasty.

While he was only a significant contributor for four years (and only played six total years for the Steelers), he was an impact player for this defense. In those six seasons, he amassed 40 sacks and was a lynchpin for this defense. No, he wasn’t the most dominant member of this group, but he is still well-deserving of the Hall of Honor.

It has been five years since the Hall of Honor opened, and currently, three of the four members of the Steel Curtain have been added to the hall. This year seems like the right time to reunite this legendary group. All four members are deserving of this honor, and it only seems right to include Holmes in the Hall of Honor.
