Steelers Harrison

A name that may still leave a bad taste in a lot of Steelers fans’ mouths, James Harrison may be the most deserving name currently not in the Hall of Honor. Yes, his time with the team ended in a poor fashion, but you can’t deny the impact he had, especially when he was in his prime. Harrison was the heart and soul of this defense when some of the earlier impact players began declining.

Harrison had one of the most dominant stretches of a defender once he became the starter. From 2007 to 2011, Harrison dominated with 54 sacks, five pro bowls, two all-pros, and a defensive MVP award. You can’t begin to talk about the team’s defensive success of that era without mentioning Harrison’s name.

Also worth mentioning is his longevity as an impact player. Despite age taking its toll on him, Harrison was still an effective pass rusher with the Steelers. Heck, he was their best edge rusher before T.J. Watt was drafted. His exit from the team wasn’t a great one, and that hurts his legacy as a whole, but Harrison is still deserving of the Hall of Honor. He was an instrumental pass rusher for so long even though his exit was less than ideal.
