The Pittsburgh Steelers recently signed Larry Ogunjobi. Here are three interesting things that all fans should know about the talented defensive tackle.

I wasn’t surprised when the Pittsburgh Steelers elected to add depth to their interior defensive line. I was, however, a bit surprised by the player they signed.

Larry Ogunjobi recently inked a one-year deal with the Steelers. The former third-round pick began his career with the Cleveland Browns before signing a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals last offseason.

I was a big fan of this move, as I think it’s a prototype low-risk, high-reward signing. Here are three things that all Steelers fans need to know about Larry Ogunjobi:

Ogunjobi was involved in the infamous Steelers vs Browns tussle

Let’s start with the elephant in the room and get this out of the way: Yes, Larry Ogunjobi was involved in the infamous tussle between Mason Rudolph and Myles Garrett during the 2019 season. This ultimately escalated and resulted in the Steelers QB getting bashed over the head with his own helmet.

Ogunjobi wasn’t the one who delivered the blunt force trauma; however, he did fly in as Garrett was being tackled to deliver a cheap shot on Rudolph — shoving him to the ground without warning. Ogunjobi’s actions weren’t justified and he received a one-game suspension for his involvement in the incident.

This is going to come to the surface soon enough and the players will no doubt be asked about this. But at this point, it should be water under the bridge for both Rudolph and Ogunjobi, who will likely laugh it off together as they make amends.
