Steelers will face Tom Brady

Sheesh, you really can’t get rid of this guy, huh?

Outside of the stronghold he had on the AFC East, there may not be a franchise he’s tormented more than the Steelers. Three times Brady battled with Pittsburgh for a ticket to the Super Bowl – and three times his New England Patriots were the ones to advance.

Pittsburgh will host Tampa Bay in Week 6. It’s surely one that’s circled on the calendars, because Tom Brady is, well, Tom Brady.

It might be the last time he visits, and Steelers fans are likely alright with that. Almost each time he’s been through Heinz Field, it’s felt like there’s a special air around the venue. Of his nine matchups in the Steel City, he’s come out on the right side of six, including a pair of AFC Championship tilts.

In regular season games against Pittsburgh, he’s thrown for an average of 312 yards per meeting, with 29 touchdowns to only five picks.

Also, it’s as if Brady gets better with age. While you do have to take into account the extra game in the schedule, he passed for 5,316 yards in 2021, the most in any of his 22 seasons. He also slung 43 touchdowns, which was only topped by his historic effort in 2007.
