The 2022 season will prove interesting for the Steelers. Here are four bold predictions for Pittsburgh in the upcoming season.

In almost two decades, the Steelers will have an actual quarterback competition between Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett. The Steelers also have two rookie wide receivers, Calvin Austin and George Pickens. On the defensive side of the ball, the Steelers will have a new defensive end DeMarvin Leal, and Myles Jack is replacing Joe Schobert.

Some fans out there are on the Pickett bandwagon, others think Trubisky is the new Steelers savior, and some fans have high hopes for George Pickens to become the new number one receiver. Sure there may be differing opinions on how their picks and free-agent signings will work out this season, no one can argue that none of the new players, at a minimum, have exciting potential. Do not take that as the Steelers will make a Superbowl appearance. That is wishful thinking and highly unlikely, at least for 2022.

That said, the Steelers could make some great strides. T.J Watt is in the prime of his career; the Steelers offensive line, while not stellar, should be much improved, which could do wonders for Najee Harris’s rushing production.
