3. Steelers WR Chase Claypool

Chase Claypool is a player who not only causes controversy over his highs and lows on the field but also in the way that he handles himself when he’s not playing football. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on how much all of the background noise really matters.

Since being selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Claypool has been a figure of controversy due to his involvement in a bar fight, questionable comments to the media, and interesting use of social media. Some fans take this with a grain of salt while others have a hard time getting over his personality they deem to be abrasive at times.

Even if we all agreed to love Chase Claypool the character, there would still be plenty of controversies when it comes to his play on the field. After a very impressive rookie season, Claypool’s second year in the NFL was a rollercoaster ride.

Some believe that he still has the upside to be one of the better wide receivers in the NFL and could be worth a second contract, while others believe he’s not a natural football player and they’ve already seen everything they need to see from him. It will be interesting to see if some of these fan views become more aligned in 2022.
