Interior defensive line (8):

Cameron Heyward, Larry Ogunjobi, Tyson Alualu, Chris Wormley, Isaiahh Loudermilk, DeMarvin Leal, Montravius Adams, Carlos Davis

After the Steelers lost Stephon Tuitt, Tyson Alualu, and Carlos Davis to injuries last year, the interior defensive line was razor thin. Sadly, Tuitt retired from football shortly after the NFL Draft, but this unit is projected to be stronger than the injury-depleted one we saw in 2021.

Cameron Heyward is the anchor of this group. Next to him, Larry Ogunjobi, Tyson Alualu, and Chris Wormley should carve out huge roles with the team this year. Behind them, young bucks like Isaiahh Loudermilk and rookie DeMarvin Leal essentially seem like locks to make the team after what Pittsburgh invested in them over the past two years. They could get involved in the rotation as well.

If the Steelers keep eight interior defenders, this means that between Montravius Adams, Carlos Davis, Khalil Davis, and Henry Mondeaux, two of these guys aren’t making the roster. I think Adams showed more than enough to stick around with a role thanks to his five solid games late in the year.

I have the final spot going to Carlos Davis — rounding out the roster and beating out his twin brother, who is likely to find himself on the practice squad. Khalil Davis and Mondeaux just miss the cut this year.
