Media bias against Steelers QB

There is a general anti-Steelers bias in today’s sports media. It began with the NFL Network and spread to ESPN. Now, it’s just a fact of contemporary sports journalism. Watching the NFL Network’s coverage, if Rudolph had a game where he threw a touchdown and an interception they would show the interception.

They also only grudgingly showed any completions he made. You would think he only threw interceptions from their coverage when the fact is he has 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. If you projected that out to a full season, something Mason Rudolph has never played, that would be 27 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

I don’t know about you but I would consider those pretty good totals for a first-year QB. In that time he’s won 5 games lost 4 and tied 1. If you project that out to a full season it would be something like 9 wins,  7 loses with 1 tie, again not bad. The NFL Network would have you believe the name ‘Mason Rudolph’ is synonymous with lousy, losing quarterbacking. Even a quick look at the numbers shows that’s not the case.

I have a real problem with the NFL Network. It is a channel totally infested with Steelers trolls. When things are going well for the Steelers they ignore them. When things are going bad in any phase of the game they pile on and they’ve loved piling on, on Mason Rudolph. However, at least in college, Mason Rudolph enjoyed some media support.
