Tulco, LLC

If you did not already guess, Thomas Tull founded Tulco LLC. At the time, Tulco, as a holding company, had invested in numerous other companies like FIGS, a healthcare apparel company tech-related companies. However, the story centers around one investment, in particular, that would be its investment in artificial intelligence.

Tulco had created an AI insurance business. At the time, it was perhaps more of a platform for a new way of using technology to sell insurance. Well, Tull’s business venture then caught the eye of Acrisure insurance. In late 2019 Acrisure acquired Tulco Labs from Tulco for $400 million.

Then in a joint venture, they formed Altway Insurance. Altway is nothing like the companies you see advertised on television like State Farm, Allstate, or whoever. Altway is a blend of AI matched with an insurance broker, thus Acrisure uses technology in cutting-edge ways within the insurance market by utilizing powerful AI applications.

In 2022 the Steelers gave Acrisure the right to put their name on the stadium. The man in the middle is none other than Thomas Tull, one of the Steelers owners. His involvement leads to some uneasy questions the Rooney’s should at least have to answer. Primarily, how fair was the naming rights bidding process, and did Tull undermine any other potential bidders?
