These Steelers have done a nice job this preseason, but they will probably have to stick on the practice squad this year.

After final cuts, the Steelers could have their potential 53-man roster deciphered over the next handful of days. The players that made the final cut are always interesting stories to watch unfold. Now that the dust has settled, players who narrowly missed the cut are going to be looking for employment on the practice squad.

There are some good players who missed out on the roster, but several of them have already been brought back to the practice squad. Pittsburgh can hold 16 players on the practice team, and they will take full advantage of that.

Tyler Vaughns has been a crunch-time playmaker for the offense

This receiver is a light-framed player that has been trying to stick on an NFL roster for some time. It seems like he will have to wait his turn yet again as the black and gold have a deep group at the position. Vaughns has done a nice job during training camp and in-game scenarios to make some plays when the ball is in his hands.

This receiver still has some development left to get to the next phase of his game. Pittsburgh will love to bring him back on the practice squad and hopefully no other teams are able to sign him off it. This is an intriguing player that could turn into something in time.

Anthony McFarland might draw the short stick for the Steelers

Anthony McFarland had a great opening performance in game one of the preseason. It saw him make nice cuts and make some plays on offense for the Steelers. He was able to dissect the Seattle Seahawks defense and make fans call for Benny Snell to become more expendable.

Game two was not kind to the running backs and that could spell disaster for McFarland. He needs to have a big game on Sunday to make the final spot over Snell. If he misses the cut, he would be a nice option to have on the practice squad if injuries occur.

The Steelers should have some decent options to add to their practice squad in 2022. These players could miss the cut and develop further on the practice fields for this team.
