I likely don’t need to tell you how great Mike Tomlin is as an underdog. In Pittsburgh’s last 29 games as an underdog under Tomlin, the Steelers are 20-8-1 against the spread (ATS). That even includes a poor stretch at the end of last season when it became clear Ben Roethlisberger was no longer a viable quarterback option.
Pittsburgh still has an elite defense, and Najee Harris is among the NFL’s best running backs. With Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and rookie George Pickens comprising one of the league’s best wide receiver rooms, there’s a ton of talent in the Steelers’ locker room.
