3 Best Bets for Steelers vs Jets in Week 4
By Tommy Jaggi
The Pittsburgh Steelers host the New York Jets in Week 4. Here are the three best prop bets to make before the game this Sunday.
Prepare yourselves; we may have a barn burner in the making. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets prepare to put up their dukes this week at Acrisure Stadium. These two teams have struggled mightily on offense this year, so it’s no surprise to see both teams sitting at 1-2 at this point in the season.
Returning for the Jets is QB Zach Wilson who has been out since the preseason with a knee injury. However, he will look to shake off the rust against a respectable Steelers defense on the road in his first game back. Fortunately for him, T.J. Watt is still out of commission.
Don’t expect a shootout in this contest, as both teams will likely try to play mistake-free football in an effort to avoid falling to 1-3 on the season. Here are the best bets you can make on the Steelers vs Jets game in Week 4:
Garrett Wilson Anytime TD Scorer Prop Bet (+230)
The Pittsburgh Steelers could be without their top boundary cornerback in Ahkello Witherspoon this week, and the depth is razor-thin at the CB position. Even if Witherspoon plays, he has really struggled over the past two games. The inability to create pressure on the QB without T.J. Watt has led to some pretty big games for opposing wide receivers.
Meanwhile, Garrett Wilson is having a strong start to his NFL career. He has earned 25 targets over the past two weeks alone and has turned that into 2 touchdowns, via Pro Football Reference. Zach Wilson may have slightly different preferences in the passing game than Joe Flacco, but we still expect a big game from Wilson that could include a touchdown on potentially 10+ targets.
Alternate Total Points Prop Bet: UNDER 39.5 (+122)
According to Fanduel Sportsbook, the projected point total for this game is currently set at 41.5 with -110 odds. We like the alternate line here of under 39.5 points. I know this sounds like it should be pretty easy for these teams to combine for 40 points, but the Steelers haven’t scored more than 17 offensive points in a game so far this year, and New York is averaging just 17.3 points per contest. This alternate line has a better payout and we still believe it will come to fruition.
Both Teams to Complete First Pass Prop Bet (+112)
With struggling offenses and the Jets playing their 23-year-old quarterback for the first time this year, I would expect the offensive coordinators of both the Steelers and the Jets to try to get their quarterbacks into a rhythm early in the game. Pittsburgh’s OC Matt Canada is likely to start with a scripted out route or something similar underneath, whereas the Jets could do the same for Wilson to get him back in the groove. These quarterbacks don’t have to be good in this game. All they have to do is complete their first pass.
