The Steelers had no players on the injury report a week ago. They have much more than that this week, yet only one seems to be of any significant concern.

The lack of additional injuries since week one is a good sign, at least when not much else seems to be going right for the Steelers in the first three weeks of the season. Only one of those on the injury report seems on track to miss this Sunday’s game so far, whereas everyone else seems destined to play against the Jets this weekend.

On the other hand, the Jets will have Zach Wilson back from injury, and everyone is expecting him to start over the Jet’s backup quarterback Joe Flacco, to the chagrin of Steelers faithful everywhere. Though after missing three weeks, the Steelers could have success over the Jets this weekend.

Here are the injuries for the Steelers headed into this weekend’s game.

Ahkello Witherspoon CB, questionable (hamstring)

Fans should pause for concern whenever the steelers end up with defensive backs on the injury report. Especially when the offense does not move the ball much, we need our defense to rise to the occasion. In Ahkello Witherspoon’s situation, he has missed two days of practice this week. If he returns to practice Friday, there is an outside concern that he could return. If not, do not expect him to play on Sunday.

Minkah Fitzpatrick CB: questionable (concussion)

The most surprising injury on the list this week Fitzpatrick did not suffer the concussion in the Cleveland game, so no one knows when he suffered it. Head Coach Mike Tomlin did not even confirm his injury until the 27th of September, adding to the question of when the injury occurred. While Fitzpatrick is still in concussion protocol, he has had two full practices since, thus paving the way for him to clear protocol in time to return to play the Jets Sunday. Thanks to having the early game last week, Minkah should luckily not miss any time.

Pressley Harvin P: questionable (hip)

Earlier this week, as a precaution, the Steelers re-signed Jordan Berry to their practice squad in the off-hand chance that Harvin did not recover from his injury in time to play this weekend against the Jets. Since then, Harvin has had a full practice Wednesday and Thursday; thus, he should not miss any time this weekend and will be available for punting duties.

Kevin Dotson G: questionable (ankle)

It is never a good sign when offensive linemen start showing up on the injury report, especially when the Steelers need a win badly and need offensive production in the worst way. Fortunately, Dotson’s injury seems to be minor, and there should not be any pause for concern for him to play on Sunday as he has had two full practices this week.

It looks like, healthwise, except for Witherspoon, the Steelers should be fine as they face the Jets, but keep an eye on the Steelers web page for any last-second updates to the injury report as game time gets closer this weekend.
