3 Best Prop Bets for Steelers vs Falcons in Week 13
By Tommy Jaggi
The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13. Here are the three best prop bets you can make for this matchup.
The good news for Pittsburgh Steelers fans is that there is technically still something to play for entering Week 13. The bad news is that one more loss could prove to be the nail in the coffin of Pittsburgh’s 2022 season. If Mike Tomlin’s team is to lose another game, it can’t be against a 5-7 team like the Atlanta Falcons.
The Steelers seem to have found new life after the bye week — going 2-1 over their last three games with a point differential of +10. This is a far cry from the -77 point differential they had up until their break in Week 9.
If you are looking for a little extra incentive this week in a battle of two teams with losing records, here are the three best prop bets you can make for Steelers vs Falcons in Week 13:
George Pickens OVER 46.5 Receiving Yards Prop Bet
It’s starting to feel like a pretty safe bet to take the over on George Pickens’ receiving yards at 46.5, via DraftKings Sportsbook. After popping off 83 yards against the Bengals in Week 11, Pickens followed things up with a 57-yard outing against a stingy Colts defense in Week 12, per ESPN stats.
While the Falcons have a suspect rush defense and it’s possible that the Pittsburgh Steelers try to pound the ball often, they also rank 28th in passing yards allowed — surrendering over 255 per game. This should give plenty of opportunities for Pickens to feed.
George Pickens OVER 3.5 Receptions Prop Bet
We are going to double down here. If you are going to take the over on Pickens’ receiving yards, why not do the same for his total receptions? The rookie receiver has earned 6 targets in each of the past two weeks, and it’s reasonable to think that he could catch just north of 50 percent of his looks.
In fact, Pickens has earned between 6-8 targets in 7 of 9 games dating all the way back to Week 2. If he didn’t have the concentration drops last week, he would have easily surpassed 3 receptions. With a bit more consistency, this should be a piece of cake.
Diontae Johnson UNDER 53.5 Receiving Yards Prop Bet
While we like the over on Pickens’ receiving numbers, we are taking the under for Diontae Johnson’s receiving yards this week. Despite earning 8 targets last week, Johnson managed a mere 49 yards. In the week prior again the Bengals, he pitched in just 21 yards on 5 targets.
This has been a very down year for Johnson in terms of both efficiency and overall production. Until he proves otherwise, there’s no reason to take the over on his prop bets.
