Pittsburgh fans are gearing up for a heated contest this Sunday against the Ravens. Here’s what’s going on in Steelers news ahead of this AFC North matchup.
We’ve had enough negative Steelers news for one week. How about the good stuff? After tracking the Antonio Brown arrest warrant situation and elaborating on the coach’s comments pertaining to the George Pickens outburst, we’ve got some heartfelt news for you this morning.
As we gear up for an eventful weekend that includes a heated AFC North contest against Pittsburgh’s biggest divisional rival, here’s what’s going on this Friday:
Steelers news
I’m sure most fans recall Connor Heyward’s touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13. This TD was met with great emotion for a number of reasons. This was far more than the rookie tight end’s first NFL touchdown; it was a score that took place in the city where Connor’s dad — Craig “Ironhead” — used to play.
Recently, the Pittsburgh Steelers released a touching video of Heyward’s touchdown reception. The camera panned to big brother, Cameron Heyward, on the sidelines after the score. He was clearly choked up and on the verge of tears because of the significance of this touchdown.

There were a few storylines that hogged the spotlight today, but not many are talking about John Harbaugh and his kind words toward Steelers quarterback, Kenny Pickett. As Harbaugh gears up for a big game against Pittsburgh this Sunday, Baltimore’s head coach gave some very high praise to the rookie.
According to Ryan Mink of the Ravens’ official website, Harbaugh said that Pickett is ‘obviously befitting of the first-round pick took him with this year.’ Harbaugh also noted that Pickett ‘looks good’ and that ‘he’s very talented.’ Ravens outside linebacker, Tyus Bowser, had equally uplifting words regarding the rookie QB.
NFL news
This is a huge week when it comes to divisional games. Most importantly, all four teams in the AFC North have divisional matchups this week — meaning two teams will advance their record while two others take a step back.
Obviously, the Steelers play the Ravens at home this week. Meanwhile, the Bengals and the Browns will square off in Deshaun Watson’s second game back from suspension. The experts at NBC Sport’s Pro Football Talk recently made their picks for Week 14. They have Pittsburgh narrowly winning some low-scoring slugfest while they think Cincinnati will run away with the win against Clevland this week.
