The Steelers have a lot of needs and asking Santa for some of these for Christmas would be a wise decision.

It has been a long time since the Steelers were not in the playoff picture when the holiday season rolled around. This team is still in rebuilding mode, which they hope will be a shorter process than many believe. There are a ton of needs that Pittsburgh will have to address this offseason to get their club back into contention status.

Free agency will not be as much of an option as last year, and the draft only carries so many selections in 2023. The Steelers might need some help from Santa Claus to get their team back into the playoff hunt. Both offensive and defensive line, cornerback, linebacker, and coaching changes are going to be areas of focus when this offseason rolls around.

The Steelers need to ask Santa for a top cornerback in the draft

Everyone has been focusing on the bad play in the trenches for the black and gold that they miss other issues. Cornerback has been a problem area for most of the season. Cam Sutton is currently heading to free agency and that will take away one of the most reliable corners for this defense.

Some players are starting to show better results in the stretch run of the year but bringing Sutton would be ideal. Looking ahead toward free agency, there are not too many options that Pittsburgh could afford to sign. The draft would be the best option when it comes around this spring as many link the Steelers to Joey Porter Jr. He is a long-framed corner coming out of Penn State that has everything a team looks for in their top defensive back.
