It is time for Santa to deliver some bad news to Matt Canada

There might not be someone on the hot seat more in Pittsburgh right now more than Matt Canada. The second-year offensive coordinator for the Steelers finally got to express his vision of the offense after Ben Roethlisberger changed things around in 2021. That seemed like a God send just one year later as Canada displays a laughable offensive output on the field.

Santa firing someone is something that many could not imagine the jolly spirit doing, but he would in a heartbeat in this circumstance. Canada has been terrible, and the club needs to look at themselves in the mirror to try and decipher why Mike Tomlin’s coaching tree is almost non-existent. The team needs to find a reliable and innovative offensive coordinator this offseason for many reasons.

There are a lot of offensive playmakers on offense that can get this group moving down the field. Kenny Pickett’s development with a qualified play caller needs to be the top priority with the importance of the quarterback’s future in play. There will be some interesting names that could join the Steelers to lead the offense if the team chooses to pursue them.

Many different coaches are looking for jobs, and some of them could have connections to Pittsburgh. Duce Staley is a former player of the Steelers who holds the title of assistant coach and running backs coach with the Lions. They carry one of the best offenses in the league. Some other names to watch could be Frank Reich, Pep Hamilton, and Jim Caldwell.
