The Pittsburgh Steelers had two of their best players go down against the Ravens. Fortunately, the injuries don’t appear to be too serious.

After things went right for the Steelers in the early slate of games on New Year’s day, Pittsburgh fans didn’t want to see this. Early in the second half against the Baltimore Ravens, two-time All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick left the game with an injury.

After tracking down tight end Mark Andrews, Fitzpatrick attempted to strip the ball away from his opponent. However, it appeared that his leg got trapped underneath him and he went to the ground awkwardly.

Minkah was writhing in pain on the ground as Sunday Night Football cut to a commercial, and Steelers fans feared the worst. Fortunately, the star safety was able to walk off the field under his own power as he made his way to the blue tent.

The good news is that Fitzpatrick was able to avoid a serious injury and is back on the field.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson goes down with an injury

Shortly after Minkah Fitzpatrick went down in pain, Diontae Johnson could be seen rolling around holding his leg. The Steelers most productive wide receiver had his shin kicked and looked as if his foot was stepped on. The good news is that he too was able to shake it off and return to the field.

Fitzpatrick and Johnson are two of the most expensive players on Pittsburgh’s roster and we certainly didn’t want to see late-season injuries that would linger deep into the 2023 offseason. Fortunately, it looks like both Pro Bowl players were able to avoid disaster with the apparently minor injuries they suffered against the Baltimore Ravens.
