Steelers will make the playoffs if these three things happen in Week 18

3. Jets must beat the Dolphins
This is it — the third and final thing that needs to go right for the Pittsburgh Steelers to enter the post-season. Unfortunately, this is probably the trickiest one of all to predict. Recent injuries to Dolphins quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater are certainly unfortunate to Miami, but Pittsburgh could benefit from the Dolphins potentially being down to third-string QB, Skylar Thompson.
At the same time, the New York Jets declared Mike White as their starting quarterback for the season finale, and he hasn’t been much better. The Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention with a loss last week, so they won’t have as much to play for as the Dolphins. Miami only needs a win and a Patriots loss to get into the tournament.
Oddsmakers are essentially declaring this content a pick’em days before kickoff against each other for the final game of the season. New York has had a very strong defense all season, and Steelers fans need them to pull through with a great performance against Miami’s offense.
What makes all of this so nerve-wracking is that these three games will be played simultaneously during the early slate this Sunday. Pittsburgh fans should keep a watchful eye on the scores of the other two games, as they can’t get into the playoffs unless all three scenarios work out in their favor.
